Why changing software requirements are important in software testing
Changing software requirements refer to revising the programming scope for the new functionality that the software team plans to add to the software program.
Initially, the software requirements document starts with simple functionality.
Software developers begin work on the new changes.
Later on, the software development team decides that we have enough resources, and we can expand the scope of the new functionality.
At this time, the requirements documents begin to change and start to grow in size.
After some time passes, the software development team decides to reduce the scope for several reasons.
Someone could say, you know, we initially implemented incorrect behavior. The new change should work a little differently.
It is worth mentioning that the requirements documents do not always get updated when software requirements change. Hence, software requirements become outdated and even incorrect.
Why do I say that the software testing team should watch for changes in requirements?
The software testing team’s role is to check that the current behavior matches the expected behavior written in the requirements document.
Anytime the software requirements change, the software testing team should immediately update what should be checked based on the new changes.
